As soon as we walked in, a friend asked who was playing. I said, "well it sounds like Morphine, that sax is unmistakeable," knowing it couldn't possibly be. Come to find out, this is the same sax player, and he

This year's season opener was an anxious one, facing the current Champions and most hated enemy, the New York Yankees. Although it was Easter Sunday and an absolutly perfect warm summer-like night, no holiday can stop the diehard Bostonian masses from flooding the entire

Pálinka

Noise: Egészségedre
Booze: Free Home-Brewed Booze

Review: ACB Art Gallery, Budapest - FREE
In Hungary, they make most of their cherry brandy in small batches for friends and family and they call it Pálinka.   I was hooked after my first shot and quickly got in the habit of requesting it.

Pálinka burns and soothes all in one, and if you can take it like a pro, you gain instant respect from the locals.

I happened to be here on Easter Sunday where the Hungarians perform old school traditions like egg exchanges and dousing each other with perfumes. Nothing beats sitting back and taking in the action over a few shots of this lovely home-brew.

If you find your self in Budapest and want to find a good bar that has the noiseandbooze vibe, check out Simpla Dupla.  Cheap drinks, low lights, great juke box, lots of young and restless people. Helpful Hint:  Hugarian for Cheers = Egészségedre

Noise: Wale, K'Naan, and special guest John Forte
Booze: Narragansett Tall Boy $5

Review: House of Blues Boston - $20
So, this concert needs to be reviewed piece by piece.

John Forte: Up first was John Forte, who apparently produced for the Fugees at one point or another. Judging by his sound, this was true. However, it's just my belief that if you are good, which he was, even if people haven't
